The Casa de Luz (the house of light) is an extraordinary five bedroom holiday home overlooking the Andalucian village of Almáchar. Built on three floors, the rooms are arranged around a central atrium, with a translucent roof that floods the house with light. The living areas are open plan, and at the top a spacious upper lounge leads to a large roof terrace with breathtaking mountain views

The living areas
The spacious dining room is decorated with a huge carved mirror and Moroccan wall hanging. It has a very large refectory table which will seat up to ten. The living room is furnished in Moorish style. It has satellite television (including UK terrestrial channels) video, DVD and CD players, books, games, local information - plus a wood burning stove for cooler winter evenings.The large, well-equipped kitchen has a full-size electric oven and hob (stove top), microwave oven, a very large fridge freezer plus a full range of cooking utensils and dining ware. There is a washing machine in the bathroom. On the top floor, leading on to the roof terrace, is an additional spacious living area with a desk and tiled Moroccan table and chairs .

The bedrooms and bathrooms
The house provides comfortable bedroom accommodation for a maximum of ten people, while leaving the unusually spacious living areas free for relaxation. There are two double bedrooms at the front of the house on the first floor up. Both have French doors onto balconies with beautiful views of the mountains. There are also three spacious twin bedrooms - two on the first floor and one on the top floor. A cot (crib) is available for babies. Good quality white bedlinen and towels are included. There is one large bathroom and one shower room – both on the first floor up - plus an additional toilet on the ground floor
The outside areas
At the top of the house is a very large (10 x 4 metres) roof terrace with spectacular views of the village and mountains – perfect for sunbathing and outdoor dining. There is a barbecue, a large table and chairs, umbrellas and sun loungers. At the front of the house is a pretty patio with a great view of the mountain - plus potted palms,vines and bougainvillea, and a bistro table and chairs for relaxed breakfasts
